  • Call your bank or credit card provider to advise where you will be using your card and the dates you will be traveling. Banks will think that fraud may be occurring if transactions are suddenly happening in Mexico when you live in Minnesota. They will turn off your card as a security measure.

  • Passports/Visas bring a copy of these if your passport becomes lost or stolen. Leave copies with a trusted person at home.

  • Call your airline 24 hours prior to you flight in case of any last minute schedule changes

  • Bring a copy of your Travel Insurance policy

  • Keep you travel documents in a safe place and leave a copy with a family member or friend at home.

  • If traveling with children if one or both parents are not traveling along, bring additional documentation that may be required (see minor consent form link).

  • Pack an extra set of clothes in your carry-on bag as well as your swimsuit, cover up and sandals if going to a tropical location.

  • Make sure you know the baggage guidelines for the airlines you are flying, both checked and carry-on bags.

  • Bring an adaptor. Some countries have different size plugs and voltage.
